Job Description
LifeLink Medical Group is a private medical establishment, initially founded as Lifelink Medical Centre in 2008 with a goal of bringing superior but affordable medical services, closer to the people. Currently running a hospital in Namugongo, and an urban clinic in Ntinda. LifeLink offers both general and specialist health services in a sparkly, friendly and well-supervised environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support
Assist in providing technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Help desk support: Respond to user inquiries and provide assistance in person, over the phone, or through email.
Network and Systems Administration
Assist in maintaining and monitoring computer networks and systems.
Learn about network configuration, server maintenance, and system backups.
Software Development and Testing
Assist in software development tasks, such as coding, testing, and debugging.
Learn about software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
Cybersecurity
Learn about cybersecurity principles and assist in implementing security measures.
Participate in vulnerability assessments and security audits.
Database Management
Assist in database administration tasks, including data entry, maintenance, and reporting.
Learn about database management systems (DBMS) and SQL queries.
IT Project Support
Assist in IT project management tasks, such as project planning, scheduling, and documentation.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to project deliverables.
IT Infrastructure
Learn about IT infrastructure components, such as servers, routers, and switches.
Assist in setting up and configuring hardware and software components.
Documentation and Reporting
Document IT processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
Prepare reports and presentations on IT projects and initiatives.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Educational Background
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant coursework in programming, networking, databases, and cybersecurity is beneficial.
Technical Skills
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), and software applications.
Familiarity with programming languages (such as Python, Java, or C++) and development tools.
Understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and security principles.
Soft Skills
Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications (Optional but beneficial)
Entry-level certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ can demonstrate foundational knowledge.
Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician - CCENT) may be advantageous depending on the internship focus.
Experience
Prior experience through coursework, personal projects, or part-time positions in IT-related roles is advantageous but not always required for internships.
