MOGAS has strongly positioned itself as the leading brand name for fuels, oil and lubricants in East & Central Africa with operations in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the UAE.
The company’s core operating assets include state of the art marine terminals at the port of Dar es Salaam with a capacity of 40,000m3 and Port of Tanga with a of capacity 6,500m3 ; a modern inland fuel depots with a capacity of 5,000 m3 in Kampala; and in Lubumbashi, DRC with a capacity of 5,000m3 capacity.
Job Description
Founded in 1987, Maestro Oil and Gas Solutions (MOGAS) is an integrated regional downstream oil marketing company with business operations ranging from international oil trading to marine and inland terminal operations, retail service stations selling fuel and offering other services wide, range of automotive and industrial lubricants, sale and distribution of LPG through different channels.
We are looking for competent staff to work within various operations in the following capacities;
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements (such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles (e.g., GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Provide financial reports to management, shareholders, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Record financial data in accounting software or spreadsheets and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
Tax Compliance
Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax, payroll tax) in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
Financial Analysis
Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.
Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial performance with budgeted or forecasted figures.
Auditing
Assist in the audit process by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions and procedures.
Collaborate with auditors to ensure audits are conducted efficiently and accurately.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
At least a bachelor's degree in the profession applied for.
Minimum 3-4 years' experience in the field applied for.
Experience in the downstream/petroleum industry is an added advantage.
