About the Organization
Job Description
The primary function of the Business Development Manager position shall be Revenue Generation and Growth; and raising the Company's Profile in the market to increase visibility and Market Share.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market Research and Analysis
Market Analysis: Conducting thorough market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Customer Needs Assessment: Understanding customer needs and market demands to align the company's offerings accordingly.
SWOT Analysis: Performing SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Strategy Development
Business Strategy: Developing and implementing business development strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Target Setting: Setting achievable sales and business development targets in line with the company's growth plans.
Strategic Planning: Contributing to the overall strategic planning process, providing insights based on market trends and business opportunities.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
Lead Generation: Identifying and generating leads through various channels such as networking, cold calling, and industry events.
Client Engagement: Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients to foster long-term partnerships.
Negotiation: Negotiating contracts, terms, and agreements with clients to secure profitable deals for the company.
Sales and Revenue Growth
Sales Strategy: Developing and executing sales strategies to meet revenue targets and drive business growth.
Pipeline Management: Managing the sales pipeline, tracking progress, and ensuring timely follow-up on leads.
Closing Deals: Leading the sales process from initial contact to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Partnership and Collaboration
Strategic Partnerships: Identifying and establishing strategic partnerships and alliances to expand the company's reach and capabilities.
Collaborations: Collaborating with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and operations to align business development efforts.
Marketing and Promotion
Marketing Strategies: Working with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies that support business development objectives.
Brand Promotion: Promoting the company’s brand, products, and services through various marketing channels and events.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Business and financial acumen to recognize and quantify strategic opportunities; data analysis capabilities, building detailed business cases.
Proficiency Microsoft Office suite especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Good written and oral communication skills; team player with ability to lead and collaborate across departments and sister companies.
Planning and reporting, sales presentations & demos.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Personal Attributes/Competences:
Degree/diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Business Computing, IT, Records Management or other related qualification.
At least 1-year sales experience e.g. B2B Sales Experience, Professional or other Sales-specific Training an added advantage.
Experience in selling IT Software and Hardware, Records Management Solutions, Information Management Systems/Solutions are added advantage.
