About the Organization
Joint Medical Store (JMS) is the leading Private Not-for-Profit Organization (PNFP) established in 1979 by Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB) and Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) as a Body Corporate under the Trustees Incorporation Act (Cap 165).
JMS is licensed by National Drug Authority (NDA) to engage in the importation, warehousing, exportation, wholesale, and distribution of medicines and related healthcare supplies. JMS also engages in other health commodity value chain activities including but not limited to training of health workers, infrastructure development, repair and maintenance of medical equipment, and institutional development. JMS operates within the framework of the Quality Management System that is certified under ISO 9001:2015.
Job Description
To offer Training of Assured Quality as a Winning Strategy in the Health sector in Uganda. This role includes developing and implementing capacity building programs and managing grants solicitation processes. The officer will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational capabilities
Duties and Responsibilities
Assess the skills and knowledge gaps of staff members and identify areas for capacity building.
Develop and implement training programs to address the identified needs, which could include workshops, seminars, coaching, and mentoring.
Facilitate training sessions: Deliver training sessions, either directly or through external facilitators, and ensure engaging and interactive content.
Monitor progress: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and track the progress of staff members.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related social science.
Master's degree or certification in a related field (e.g., MBA, MEd, MSOD) may be preferred or required for senior roles.
Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience in capacity building, training, and development, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, facilitation, and coaching.
Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners.
Competencies:
Adult learning principles: Understanding of how adults learn and the ability to apply this knowledge in training design and delivery.
Training design and delivery: Skilled in creating engaging, interactive training programs and materials.
Facilitation and coaching: Ability to facilitate group learning and coach individuals to improve performance.
