Job Description
The Channel Manager will be responsible for managing distributors and channels in Uganda, ensuring the successful launch and ongoing management of products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and product launches, with established contacts in the market. This role requires effective coordination with the HQ Pricing team in London to communicate incentives clearly and create processes for proper implementation of new products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Channel Management: Develop and manage relationships with distributors and channel partners. Ensure alignment with company objectives and optimize channel performance.
Product Launch: Plan and execute the launch of new products through various channels. Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to ensure successful market entry.
Incentive Communication: Work closely with the HQ Pricing team in London to develop and communicate incentive programs to distributors and channel partners. Ensure clear understanding and implementation of these programs.
Process Development: Create and refine processes for the effective implementation of new products. Ensure all channel activities are streamlined and compliant with company standards.
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth through channels. Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities, and take corrective actions as needed.
Market Intelligence: Gather and analyze market data to inform product launches and channel strategies. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to distributors and channel partners. Ensure they have the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively sell Lycamobile products.
Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for channel activities. Regularly monitor and report on performance, making adjustments to strategies as necessary.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key market players, including distributors, retailers, and other partners. Leverage these relationships to drive business growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and customer service, to ensure cohesive execution of channel strategies.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in channel management, sales, or related roles, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
Proven track record of successful product launches and channel management.
Strong understanding of sales processes and strategies.
Established contacts and network within the Ugandan market.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Willingness to travel as needed.
