Job Description

Pentecostal Assemblies of God Sebei Pastorate is seeking to recruit Independent minded, Committed, self-motivated and born-again person for the position of Child Development Officer - Health (CDO-Health HBP) available at Two of our Child Development Centres at Chesmat and Cheboi, Bukwo District.

Duties and Responsibilities

Health Program Implementation:

  • Develop and implement health programs aimed at improving child health outcomes.

  • Ensure that health interventions are aligned with national and local health policies and guidelines.


Health Assessments and Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular health assessments and screenings for children.

  • Monitor the health status of children and identify any health issues or concerns.

  • Maintain detailed health records and reports for all children under their care.


Health Education and Promotion:

  • Provide health education to children, parents, and the community on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyles.

  • Organize health campaigns and activities to promote healthy behaviors and practices.


Nutrition Management:

  • Monitor and assess the nutritional status of children.

  • Implement nutrition programs and interventions to address malnutrition and promote healthy eating habits.

  • Provide guidance on proper feeding practices and dietary requirements.


Disease Prevention and Management:

  • Implement and oversee vaccination programs and other disease prevention initiatives.

  • Provide care and support for children with chronic illnesses and health conditions.

  • Manage and coordinate responses to health emergencies and outbreaks.


Parental and Community Engagement:

  • Engage with parents and caregivers to ensure they are informed and involved in their children's health care.

  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for parents on child health and development topics.

  • Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to support child health initiatives.


Referral and Coordination of Care:

  • Identify children who need specialized medical care and facilitate referrals to appropriate health services.

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, hospitals, and other institutions to ensure comprehensive care for children.

  • Follow up on referred cases to ensure continuity of care.


Data Collection and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze health data to track program progress and impact.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on health activities, outcomes, and challenges.

  • Use data to inform decision-making and program improvements.


Advocacy and Policy Support:

  • Advocate for policies and programs that support child health and development.

  • Participate in policy discussions and contribute to the development of health guidelines and standards.

  • Collaborate with government agencies and NGOs to influence health policy and practice.


Training and Capacity Building:

  • Train and mentor other health workers, volunteers, and community members involved in child health programs.

  • Build capacity within the community to sustain health initiatives and improve child health outcomes.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • You must be mature born again Christian with a testimony.

  • Aged 24 to 35 years.

  • Must be computer literate and flexible to work in all conditions.

  • Minimum of a certificate and diploma in nursing and other health related fields.

  • Experience and special interest in working with children will be an added advantage.
