Job Description
With funding support from Austrian Development Agency (ADA), The Human Rights Centre Uganda (HRCU), Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), and African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (ACTV) are together implementing a two-year project (running from 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2025) titled “Reduction of cases of human rights violations and abuses in selected districts in Northern Uganda.” These districts are Lira (Lango sub region), Pader (Acholi sub region), Moroto (Karamoja sub region) and Kampala (central region as the coordinating district).
Duties and Responsibilities
Client Engagement
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and ensure client satisfaction.
Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' challenges, objectives, and requirements.
Analysis and Research
Data Collection: Gather data through various methods such as interviews, surveys, and observation.
Market Research: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor performance, and market conditions.
Analysis: Analyze data to identify issues, opportunities, and trends. Use analytical tools and techniques to derive insights.
Solution Development
Problem-Solving: Identify problems and develop strategic solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive plans to address identified issues and achieve clients' objectives.
Implementation: Assist clients in implementing recommended solutions and changes.
Advisory and Guidance
Expert Advice: Provide expert advice and guidance on specific issues, drawing from deep industry knowledge and experience.
Best Practices: Recommend best practices and industry standards to improve clients' operations and performance.
Project Management
Project Planning: Develop project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to clients, summarizing findings, recommendations, and progress.
Training and Development
Workshops and Seminars: Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars to educate clients’ staff on new processes, tools, or strategies.
Skills Development: Help clients develop the necessary skills and capabilities to sustain improvements.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Education and Experience
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, management, finance, IT) is typically required. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or specialized certification can be advantageous.
Experience: Several years of experience in a relevant industry or consulting role. Experience in managing projects and working with senior management is often required.
Skills and Competencies
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to develop innovative solutions to clients’ challenges.
Project Management: Proficiency in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and work collaboratively with teams.

Certifications and Training
Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Management Consultant (CMC), or industry-specific certifications.
Ongoing Training: Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends, best practices, and new methodologies.
Technical Proficiency
Software Tools: Proficiency in using analytical and project management tools (e.g., Excel, Microsoft Project, Tableau).
CRM Systems: Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to manage client interactions.
