Job Description
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - funded Feed the Future Uganda Institutional and Systems Strengthening (ISS) Activity (also herein referred to as the “Activity”), implemented by DT Global, aims to mitigate institutional governance, management, and market systems constraints to improve how system actors work together to achieve agriculture-led economic growth. The Activity’s overarching goal is increased responsiveness and accountability of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and national level Industry Apex Organizations (IAOs) to their members, constituents, and the public and a more conducive environment for agriculture sector market actors to productively engage and coordinate
Duties and Responsibilities
Client Assessment and Engagement
Needs Analysis: Conduct assessments to understand the client's needs, challenges, and goals.
Proposal Development: Develop and present proposals outlining how the consulting services will address the client’s needs.
Research and Data Analysis
Data Gathering: Collect and analyze data relevant to the client's situation.
Market Research: Conduct market research to gather insights and benchmarks.
Diagnostic Analysis: Identify problems, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Strategy Development
Solution Design: Develop tailored strategies and solutions to address the client's issues.
Planning: Create detailed plans and timelines for implementing the proposed solutions.
Implementation Support
Project Management: Assist in or manage the implementation of the proposed solutions.
Change Management: Help the client manage organizational change and ensure successful adoption of new processes or systems.
Training: Provide training and support to client staff as needed.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Performance Metrics: Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of the implemented solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, engineering, IT, marketing, or a specialized area related to the consulting practice.
Advanced Degree: A master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MS) or other advanced degrees can be beneficial, especially for senior roles.
Professional Experience
Industry Experience: Several years of experience in the relevant industry or field of expertise.
Consulting Experience: Prior experience in a consulting role is highly advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and preparing reports.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant software tools, data analysis techniques, and industry-specific technologies.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work collaboratively with clients and team members.
Critical Thinking: Ability to think strategically and critically about business problems and solutions.
