About the Organization
Joint Medical Store (JMS) is the leading Private Not-for-Profit Organization (PNFP) established in 1979 by Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB) and Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) as a Body Corporate under the Trustees Incorporation Act (Cap 165).
JMS is licensed by National Drug Authority (NDA) to engage in the importation, warehousing, exportation, wholesale, and distribution of medicines and related healthcare supplies. JMS also engages in other health commodity value chain activities including but not limited to training of health workers, infrastructure development, repair and maintenance of medical equipment, and institutional development. JMS operates within the framework of the Quality Management System that is certified under ISO 9001:2015.
Job Description
Manage the processing of customers' orders; respond to customer inquiries and queries relating to products and services in accordance with JMS policies and procedures, carry out roles of supervising pharmacist.
NB. Working knowledge of the region and local languages is required for candidates applying for positions at Gulu branch.
Duties and Responsibilities
Managing customer orders and responding to enquiries
Promoting a positive image of JMS by adhering to company values
Providing excellent customer care skills
Marketing and selling products to customers
Translating customer orders into sales documents
Maintaining records of unconfirmed orders
Identifying and resolving discrepancies in customer orders
Keeping accurate records of customer orders
Following up with customers regarding invoicing and order status
Updating customer contacts in the ERP system
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Communications) preferred.
Relevant certifications, such as customer service or sales certifications, may be advantageous.
Experiences:
At least 1-2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or a related field.
Proven experience in handling customer inquiries, orders, and complaints.
Experience with CRM software, ERP systems, or other customer management tools.
Familiarity with sales and marketing principles.
Competencies:
Excellent communication skills: Verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
Customer-focused mindset: Strong customer service skills and a commitment to meeting customer needs.
Problem-solving skills: Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently.
Organizational skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple customers, and meet deadlines.
