About the Organization

Kiira Motors Corporation is a State Enterprise established to champion value addition in the nascent Motor Vehicle Industry in Uganda through Technology Transfer, Contract Manufacturing and Supply Chain Localization. This strategic intervention is poised to contribute to the industrialization agenda envisaged to aid the transformation of Uganda into an upper middle-income economy by 2040. Kiira Motors Corporation is developing long-term technology partnership(s) to build core capabilities to Develop, Make, and Sell motor vehicles and components in Africa on a Mission to build a better Uganda through Automotive Technology. The Strategic Technology Partnership(s) are premised on 4+1 pillars of People, Plant, Products, Mobility Infrastructure and Policy founded on strategies developed and shaped by the realities and characteristics of the target market in Uganda and Africa. The sustainability of the KMC operations is premised on optimal utilisation of infrastructure, facilities and resources seasoned with relevant application of Industry 4.0+ tools and technologies within the context of a circular economy. The Shareholders of Kiira Motors Corporation are: The Government of the Republic of Uganda represented by the Ministry responsible for Science, Technology and Innovation, Office of the President (96%) and Makerere University (4%).

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Strategy Development: Formulate and implement comprehensive marketing and sales strategies aligned with the organization’s business objectives.

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.

  • Revenue Goals: Set and achieve revenue targets, sales objectives, and profitability goals.


Marketing Management

  • Brand Management: Oversee brand development and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels.

  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and evaluate marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and events, to drive customer acquisition and retention.

  • Content Strategy: Develop and manage content strategy to enhance brand visibility and engagement.


Sales Management

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market reach and increase customer base.

  • Sales Operations: Oversee sales operations, including pipeline management, sales forecasting, and performance monitoring.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.


Team Leadership and Development

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing and sales team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Talent Development: Identify and nurture talent within the team, providing training and professional development opportunities.

  • Collaboration: Promote collaboration between marketing and sales teams to ensure alignment and maximize effectiveness.


Budget and Resource Management

  • Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the marketing and sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

  • ROI Analysis: Monitor and analyze the return on investment (ROI) for marketing and sales initiatives, making adjustments as necessary.


Compliance and Risk Management

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all marketing and sales activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks related to marketing and sales initiatives and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is often preferred.

  • Experience: Extensive experience in marketing and sales, typically with at least 10 years in progressively responsible roles. Prior experience in a leadership position is essential.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies that drive business growth.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and guide the marketing and sales team.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data, sales performance metrics, and customer insights.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives and ensure timely delivery.

  • Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, CRM software, and data analytics tools.

  • Customer Focus: Deep understanding of customer behavior and needs, with the ability to design and execute strategies that enhance customer experience.

  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to close deals and manage vendor relationships.

  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and ROI measurement in the context of marketing and sales.
