As the Executive Chinese Chef, you will be the culinary visionary behind our esteemed Chinese kitchen. Your creativity and expertise will craft menus that blend tradition with innovation. You will lead a team of passionate chefs and inspire and guide our culinary team to consistently deliver a memorable dining experience to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Menu Planning and Development:

  • Design and create authentic Chinese dishes and menus, including seasonal and special items.

  • Innovate and develop new recipes to keep the menu fresh and appealing.


Food Preparation and Cooking:

  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of all dishes to ensure consistency and quality.

  • Ensure that all food items are prepared according to the restaurant’s standards and recipes.


Quality Control:

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.

  • Conduct regular taste tests and inspections to ensure dishes meet quality and consistency standards.


Staff Management and Training:

  • Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.

  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance skills and ensure adherence to culinary standards and safety protocols.


Inventory and Supply Management:

  • Manage inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies.

  • Establish relationships with suppliers to source the best quality ingredients at competitive prices.

  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, and storage of food supplies to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

Kitchen Operations and Efficiency:

  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and meets production schedules.

  • Implement and maintain kitchen workflows and procedures to optimize productivity and maintain a clean, organized environment.


Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen.


Budget Management:

  • Manage the kitchen budget, including food cost, labor cost, and other expenses.

  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.


Customer Satisfaction:

  • Interact with customers to receive feedback and make adjustments to enhance their dining experience.

  • Ensure that all customer complaints or concerns related to food quality are addressed promptly and effectively.


Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with restaurant management and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chinese Chef or in a similar role in a five-star luxury hotel operation or fine dining environment

  • Solid understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and procurement processes to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

  • With extensive knowledge and appreciation of Chinese culinary traditions, ingredients, and cuisine, with a passion for creativity and innovation


  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to train and motivate a diverse team of culinary professionals; with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and guests.

  • Exceptional organizational acumen, with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently while prioritizing quality and guest satisfaction.

  • You should have a diploma or degree in the related field of application and a minimum of 5 years of exceptional service.

  • Recommendation letters and certificates of service will be an added advantage.
