Duties and Responsibilities

Fuel Storage and Inventory Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming fuel deliveries.

  • Maintain accurate records of fuel inventory levels and consumption rates.

  • Monitor and manage fuel stockpiles to ensure availability and prevent shortages.


Fuel Handling and Transportation:

  • Operate equipment such as conveyor systems, cranes, and forklifts to transport fuel within the facility.

  • Load and unload fuel trucks, railcars, or barges using appropriate handling procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations during fuel handling and transportation activities.


Fuel Preparation and Processing:

  • Prepare fuels for combustion or processing according to operational requirements.

  • Operate equipment for fuel crushing, grinding, screening, and blending.

  • Monitor fuel quality and consistency to maintain optimal combustion performance.


Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

  • Operate and maintain fuel handling equipment, including crushers, conveyors, feeders, and storage systems.

  • Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs on equipment.

  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs or upgrades.


Safety and Environmental Compliance:

  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Implement environmental controls and practices to minimize pollution and emissions.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

  • Vocational training or certification in fuel handling operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is advantageous.


Experience:

  • Relevant experience in fuel handling, preferably in an industrial or power generation setting.

  • Familiarity with specific types of fuel (solid, liquid, gas) and their handling requirements.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in operating fuel handling equipment and systems.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to fuel handling and storage.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.


  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and operating heavy equipment.

  • Capability to work in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor and potentially hazardous environments.


Safety Awareness:

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols.

  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and emergency response procedures.
