Job Description
Our Client, the Stanbic Business Incubator is a non-profit subsidiary of Stanbic Holdings Uganda Ltd, is focused on championing Entrepreneurship and SME Development as a key driver of Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Uganda in line with Stanbic’s purpose: “Uganda is our Home and We Drive Her Growth”. Stanbic Business Incubator is at a pivotal point in its transformational journey, and grant funding will play a key role in propelling the organization forward. To support this exciting new chapter, SBIL is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grants Accountant to join the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive grants accounting system.
Manage the grant life cycle with a strong desire to build efficient and effective end to end processes.
Collaboration with both internal and external program staff
Timely and accurate preparation financial reports
Ability to implement and keep updated with grant regulations from time to time.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Education, Training, Skills & Experience Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a non-profit organization.
Experience with grant accounting will be an added advantage.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Self-starter thriving in an independent environment and able to appropriately implement the required financial processes.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in usage of accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics).
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrate great communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
