About the Organization

Job Description

ACORD Uganda in collaboration with Bread for the World believes that if women are empowered, they can play a critical role in minimising the effects of climate change leading to sustainable resource management and practices at the community level. In light of the above, ACORD Uganda has been supporting women in southwestern Uganda, building their capacity and resilience in adapting to climate change in their community. ACORD Uganda also believes that communities can be more prepared for climate change if they have secure livelihoods, access to education, safe water, sanitation, and hygiene good practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Management

  • Digital Strategy Development: Formulate and implement comprehensive digital strategies that align with the organization’s overall business objectives.

  • Innovation and Transformation: Drive digital innovation and transformation initiatives to improve business processes, enhance customer experiences, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Technology Roadmap: Develop and manage the technology roadmap, ensuring the adoption of cutting-edge digital tools and platforms.


Digital Platform Management

  • Platform Oversight: Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, and other digital channels.

  • User Experience (UX) Enhancement: Ensure a seamless and engaging user experience across all digital touchpoints.

  • Content Management: Supervise the creation, management, and optimization of digital content to ensure it is relevant, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.


Data and Analytics

  • Data Strategy: Develop and implement data strategies to capture, analyze, and leverage data for informed decision-making and improved customer insights.

  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of digital initiatives and track progress against goals.


Team Leadership and Development

  • Team Management: Lead and manage the digital management team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

  • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with other departments such as marketing, IT, sales, and customer service to ensure cohesive digital strategies.

  • Talent Development: Identify and nurture digital talent within the organization, ensuring continuous skill development and knowledge enhancement.


Project Management

  • Project Oversight: Oversee digital projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management and other stakeholders.


Compliance and Security

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all digital initiatives comply with relevant regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards.

  • Cybersecurity: Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect digital assets and customer data.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is often preferred.

  • Experience: Extensive experience in digital management, digital marketing, or a related field, typically with at least 10 years in progressively responsible roles. Prior experience in a leadership position is essential.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective digital strategies that drive business growth and enhance customer experiences.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of digital technologies, platforms, and tools, including content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) software, and data analytics tools.

  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Leadership: Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving digital goals.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels and conveying complex digital concepts in an understandable manner.

  • Customer Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors, with the ability to design and implement digital experiences that meet those needs.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing digital trends and technologies.
