Dr. Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital Kalongo is a PNFP located in Agago, Northern Uganda. The Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer and hereby invites suitably qualified applicants for job opening for recruitment on replacement basis as herein;
Duties and Responsibilities
Laboratory Maintenance:
Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and workspaces.
Dispose of hazardous materials according to safety protocols.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
Participate in safety training and drills.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with laboratory supervisors, researchers, and other technicians.
Communicate findings and provide technical support to other team members.
Assist in the training of new laboratory staff and interns.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
An associate degree or diploma in medical laboratory technology, biology, chemistry, or a related field is typically required.
Some positions may require a bachelor's degree, particularly in specialized or research-focused labs.
Certification and Licensure:
Certification from a recognized professional body, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), may be required or preferred.
State licensure may be required, depending on the region and the nature of the work.
Experience:
Prior experience in a laboratory setting is highly valued.
Clinical internships or on-the-job training can provide practical experience.
