Job Description

Quality Plastics (U) LTD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. If you are performance-driven, possess exceptional organizational and planning skills, excel in problem-solving, and have the ability to motivate others, we want to hear from you.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the lathe machine for operation, ensuring proper alignment and calibration of tools and workpieces.

  • Choose appropriate raw materials based on project specifications and ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans to accurately produce components.

  • Tool Selection: Select the right cutting tools, inserts, and attachments for specific jobs, considering material type and machining requirements.

  • Secure workpieces onto the lathe machine using clamps, bolts, or other appropriate fixtures to prevent movement during machining.

  • Operate both manual and CNC lathe machines to perform turning, facing, grooving, threading, and other machining operations according to project requirements.

  • Precision Machining: Achieve precise measurements and tolerances by adjusting machine settings, feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as necessary.

  • Regularly inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specified quality standards, adjusting the machine or process as needed.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to tool wear, machine malfunctions, or quality deviations, and take corrective actions.

  • Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years as Lathe Machine Operator.

  • Minimum Education: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Excellent knowledge in English (verbal and written).

  • Good Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good knowledge of applicable standards, local rules and regulations.
