Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
Offer legal support and advise on legal cases and represent the company for any court appeals.
Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken
Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management /staff especially on filing police cases.
Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff especially the recovery officers
Formulate legal compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.
Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Strong Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of laws, regulations, and legal procedures relevant to the organization's industry. This includes staying updated with changes in legislation and case law.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues, interpret statutes, and evaluate risks. This involves critical thinking and the capacity to dissect legal problems and develop sound solutions.
Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in reviewing legal documents, contracts, and compliance matters to ensure accuracy and completeness, avoiding any oversight that could lead to legal complications.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Proficiency in identifying legal issues and developing strategic solutions that align with the organization's goals while ensuring compliance with the law.
Ethical Judgement and Integrity: High ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive information and making decisions that uphold the law and the organization’s values.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to manage disputes, draft and review contracts, and achieve favorable terms in agreements and settlements.
