Job Description
True North Consult Limited is a boutique HR Consultancy Firm that offers bespoke HR solutions to selected clients in various sectors and industries across East Africa, with operational offices in Kampala, Nairobi and Kigali.
Job Summary: We are sourcing for suitably qualified professionals to assign to our Client to fill the job of Maintenance Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies, ordering replacements as needed.
Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Generate reports on equipment status and maintenance performance.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, such as equipment breakdowns or facility issues, and coordinate necessary actions.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and systems.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Education: Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical training or an associate degree in a related field is often preferred.
Experience: Several years of experience in maintenance, including supervisory roles, is usually required. Experience with specific equipment or systems may be necessary depending on the industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and other relevant areas. Familiarity with maintenance software and tools is often required.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and find effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, management, vendors, and contractors.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities.
Physical Fitness: The job may require physical labor, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
Certifications: Depending on the industry, specific certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical license) may be required or beneficial.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety protocols within the team.
