About the Organization
First incorporated as a private limited company in 1967 as Housing Finance Company Uganda Limited, carrying out business as a non-banking credit institution providing mortgage finance and also accepting savings deposits from the public. We became licensed and regulated by Bank of Uganda as a commercial Bank in 2007 to carry on business of a banking under the Financial Institutions Act and changed into a public limited liability company known as Housing Finance Bank Limited.
Job Description
To manage and support the various Information Systems Teams in providing the bank’s core banking and business functionality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement specific strategies to achieve 99% uptime of all business applications of the Bank.
Ensure utility and warranty for all technology services under IS section following the ITIL framework.
Develop and Implement specific Disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for all business applications of the Bank.
Oversee installation and configuration, testing of both banking and non-banking applications.
Manage execution of service requests for upgrading, maintenance and routine support to applications in line with SLA obligations.
Continuously engage users to obtain feedback on functionality of different applications and feedback to the Business Technology Teams
Work with the change and digital transformation teams to propose improvements on existing applications and to make proposals for new innovations based on user feedback and emerging business needs.
Ensure that service requests and problems are addressed in a timely manner.
Review documentation relating to different applications and propose improvements to the various processes and procedures for the existing and new applications
Supervise the implementation of agreed controls and all protocols relating to safe management of information in all data bases to ensure integrity of data in the databases
Accountable for effective supervision and managing the performance of the team
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in ICT and Computer related studies e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or other related studies e.g. Bachelor of Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical, Data Communication and Networks
Post graduate training in Databases Administration and Applications and Software Development e.g Java, MySql, Cloud Application Developer, Cloud Native Developer, Mobil
Application Developer, or Cloud Application Administrator and management of ERPs.
ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
Skills & Experience
At least 5 years’ experience in Applications Development and maintenance
Proven technical Skills in Applications and Software Development e.g Java, MySql, Cloud Application Developer, Cloud Native Developer, Mobile Application Developer, or Cloud Application Administrator and management of ERPs.
Skills in databases administration
Experience and in-depth Knowledge for the diverse range of all the software and hardware in the Bank including management of ERPs
Ability to effectively supervise and manage the performance of a small technical team
Skills in innovation
