Job Description
BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd launched on 25 April 2019 and attained its current status as a Tier II Credit institution following a successful background as the leading Microfinances services provider in Uganda. The bank operates 32 regulated branches and 131 satellite offices covering 84 districts in Uganda targeting Micro, Small. and Medium Entrepreneurs. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd promotes financial inclusion by extending financial services to unserved and underserved populations especially women and youth as well as people living in poverty in rural areas. The Bank is operationally and financially self-sustaining with over 231,000 active customers and a loan book in excess of Ushs.175 billion.
Job Summary: The Manager Credit Administration will provide leadership and direction to the Banks Credit Administration Unit, ensure sound credit risk management polices and procedures, and proactively manage the technical aspects of credit administration processes with efficiency and accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure timely submission of accurate reports as required by key stakeholders including field operations, management, Board, Bank of Uganda, External and Internal Audit.
To supervise and proactively manage the CRB portfolio and reporting within the parameters of the banking laws and regulations
Coordinate implementation of internal credit policies and procedures to enhance credit risk management and limited exposure at all levels.
Portfolio management. Performing analysis /review of risk classification of loan advances and computing the required general and specific provisioning of the portfolio in line with Bank of Uganda regulations for Asset Quality Monthly preparation and modeling of IFRS9 provisions, validating the ECL results, and analysing impacts.
Ensure safe lending. Manage the administration of staff loans. coordinate resolution of core banking system issues and user acceptance tests for implementation of COS changes and fixes.
Collateral Management: Ensure effective policies and procedures are in place for the safe custody and control of all loan files and security documents at the bank. Coordinate the collateral valuation and perfection processes as per bank policies and procedures.
Credit Life Insurance: Monitoring of the credit life insurance contract for compliance with SLA and the policy. Ensure timely payment of claims.
Coordinate Implementation of assigned credit projects within time, cost, and quality
Risk, Audit and Compliance: Maintain and update RCSA and register for the department and ensure timely implementation of control improvement plans.
Coordinate closure of internal audit external audit, and regulatory observations before the due dates of the actions.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in law, Banking, Finance, Business Administration
At least four years of experience in Credit Administration and knowledge of Bank products and operations.
Credit trained and familiar with portfolio management tools and the legal and regulatory environment.
Understanding of banking and knowledge of risk management and legal issues related to commercial.
Thorough knowledge of the bank’s operational & technical aspects of the credit processes
Financial analysis skills and accounting knowledge
A proactive problem solver with excellent credit and analytical
Thorough knowledge of core banking system.
Experience with Rubikon Orbit-R Core Banking system.
