About the Organization
Joint Medical Store (JMS) is the leading Private Not-for-Profit Organization (PNFP) established in 1979 by Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB) and Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) as a Body Corporate under the Trustees Incorporation Act (Cap 165).
JMS is licensed by National Drug Authority (NDA) to engage in the importation, warehousing, exportation, wholesale, and distribution of medicines and related healthcare supplies. JMS also engages in other health commodity value chain activities including but not limited to training of health workers, infrastructure development, repair and maintenance of medical equipment, and institutional development. JMS operates within the framework of the Quality Management System that is certified under ISO 9001:2015.
Job Description
The Manager Sustainability and corporate Affairs role is to ensure the smooth operation of the Board of Directors and its committees, Corporate Affairs-adherence to corporate governance principles, coordination of development and monitoring of the JMS strategy and alignment of corporate strategy with ESG.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with JMS’s mission and goals.
Monitor and report on sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
Identify and mitigate sustainability risks, and propose improvements for sustainable practices.
Lead efforts in energy management, waste reduction, and resource conservation within the organization.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Experience in sustainability, corporate affairs, or a related field, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
Proven track record in developing and implementing successful sustainability and CSR initiatives.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in project management and strategic planning.
