Job Description

Kabale University is a Public University pursuant to Statutory Instrument No. 36 of 16th July 2015 under The Universities and other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001 (as amended)

Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy:

  • Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify target audiences, market trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and manage marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, print, social media, etc.).

  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including advertisements, brochures, newsletters, and website content.


Brand Management:

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and maintain the company’s brand strategy, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity.

  • Brand Guidelines: Create and enforce brand guidelines to maintain a cohesive and recognizable brand image.

  • Brand Promotion: Promote the brand through various channels, including public relations, events, and partnerships.

  • Reputation Management: Monitor and manage the brand’s reputation, addressing any issues or negative publicity.


Digital Marketing:

  • SEO/SEM: Implement search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) strategies to increase online visibility.

  • Social Media: Manage social media accounts, creating and curating content to engage with followers and grow the audience.

  • Analytics: Monitor and analyze digital marketing metrics, adjusting strategies to improve performance and ROI.


Customer Engagement:

  • CRM: Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) tools to track and analyze customer interactions and data.

  • Feedback: Collect and analyze customer feedback to improve products, services, and marketing efforts.

  • Loyalty Programs: Develop and manage customer loyalty programs to enhance customer retention.


Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales, product development) to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.

  • Agencies: Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors, such as advertising agencies and graphic designers.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities.

  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and data to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.

  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitors’ marketing activities and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

Educational Qualifications:

  • Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is typically required.

  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree or MBA with a focus on marketing or branding is often preferred.


Professional Experience:

  • Marketing Experience: Several years of experience in marketing, branding, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful campaigns.

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the specific industry or market in which the company operates can be beneficial.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans.

  • Creativity: Strong creative skills for developing compelling marketing content and campaigns.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing marketing data and metrics to inform decisions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive messages.

  • Digital Proficiency: Expertise in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, SEO/SEM, and email marketing.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.


Technology Proficiency:

  • Marketing Tools: Familiarity with marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.

  • Design Software: Basic skills in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) can be advantageous.
