Job Description

MPower Steel company Ltd. was incorporated as a Ugandan Company in the year 2020. MPower Steel is part of MPower Group of Companies having interests in the core sectors of Energy, Power, Steel, lubricants in Africa and Asia
MPower Steel though being the groups brand new addition has already been gaining traction in the business circles in the region riding on the success of group company MPower Oil, Uganda.
MPower Oil Company Ltd., Uganda recently took over the businesses of Mineral Oil Company Ltd., Uganda. MPower Oil is now the leading manufacturer, distributor and Automotive and Industrials Lubricants in the region. MPower Oil has presence in the form of local offices in all major business districts and has distributorships in almost all major cities and towns of the region.
MPower Steel is located in Kampala, Uganda's national and commercial capital. Kampala is famous for red- tiled villas in the midst of tree covered hills. These hills surround an urban centre of contemporary skyscrapers that serve as the preferred place for the businesses in the city. The city's downtown houses the Uganda Museum. The museum explores the country's rich tribal heritage through an extensive collection of artefacts.
The other prime attraction of the city is Lake Victoria also called Victoria Nyanza. It's the largest of the African Great Lakes. Lake Victoria is also the principal source of the River Nile, one of the longest and most important rivers flowing to the Mediterranean Sea. Spending time at dusk and dawn time around Lake Victoria is a source of pure bliss for both visitors and the local population.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote TMX Bars.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Brand Management: Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials.


Campaign Management

  • Campaign Development: Plan, execute, and oversee marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, print, and events.

  • Content Creation: Develop and manage content strategy, including blogs, social media posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.

  • Advertising: Manage advertising efforts across various platforms, including online, TV, radio, and print media.


Digital Marketing

  • SEO/SEM: Implement and manage SEO and SEM strategies to increase online visibility and traffic.

  • Social Media Management: Oversee social media presence and engagement, creating compelling content and responding to customer interactions.

  • Email Marketing: Design and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and retain customers.


Performance Tracking

  • Analytics: Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using tools like Google Analytics, CRM systems, and social media analytics.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on marketing metrics, ROI, and KPIs to senior management.


Team Leadership

  • Team Management: Lead and manage the marketing team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product development, and other departments to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.

  • Training: Provide training and development opportunities for the marketing team to enhance their skills and knowledge.


Budget Management

  • Budget Planning: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors, agencies, and partners.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a plus.


Experience

  • Experience Level: At least 5-7 years of experience in marketing, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a managerial role.

  • Industry Experience: Experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically with snack products or similar consumer goods, is highly preferred.

  • Track Record: Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term marketing strategies aligned with business goals.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in marketing software and tools, such as CRM systems, Google Analytics, social media platforms, and email marketing software.

  • Creative Skills: Creativity in developing marketing concepts and content.
