Duties and Responsibilities
Installation: Electricians install wiring, lighting systems, outlets, circuit breakers, and other electrical components in homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
Maintenance: They inspect electrical systems regularly to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently. This may involve testing circuits, replacing worn or outdated components, and performing preventative maintenance.
Repair: Electricians troubleshoot and repair electrical problems when they arise. This can include fixing malfunctioning outlets, repairing damaged wiring, and replacing defective switches or fixtures.
Upgrades and Upkeep: They may be responsible for upgrading electrical systems to meet current safety codes or to accommodate changes in usage. This could involve installing new wiring for appliances, adding additional outlets, or upgrading to more energy-efficient lighting.
