Genius Hub is a recruitment firm that specializes in talent search and placement of highly skilled individuals. We are looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual for our client as an Operations Manager.

Our client, who is in the shipping business, is looking for a self-motivated and qualified Operations Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the receiving and delivery of cargo for all Agency vessels;

  • Manage all cargo loaded and discharged from the Agency vessel;

  • Coordinate planning of vessel for an effective and efficient operation;

  • Maintain effective channels of communication with Personnel, Principals, Officials and Senior Vessel Officers;

  • Provide a supervisory role in Crewing and Boarding;

  • Management for all Operations and Logistics Personnel;

  • Ensure Dangerous Goods approvals and processes meet both Company and IMDG regulations;

  • To manage the team to achieve optimal cost-per-carrying performance across the container fleet while achieving service standards that meet customer expectations;

  • Coordinate with the head of export sales a forecast by container type and implement a container inventory supply plan to ensure the timely availability of containers to meet export requirements including food grade and water supplies;

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all equipment-related invoices, so that costs are allocated correctly, and invoices are processed within the required timeframes.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Proven work experience as an operations manager or similar role.

  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.

  • Experience budgeting and forecasting.

  • Familiarity with business and financial principles.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Leadership ability.

  • Outstanding organizational skills.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management and Finance or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • Additional Certifications and Training in the field of management will be an added advantage.

  • Practical experience in operations management or supervisory roles.

  • Proven working experience in a relevant field, a minimum of 2-3 years.

  • Good knowledge in supply chain supply chain management.
