Job Description
Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI) is a private development company based in Bethesda, Maryland, US with additional corporate offices in London and Hemel Hempstead in the United Kingdom. We tackle fundamental social and economic development problems caused by inefficient markets, ineffective governance, and instability. We work with a wide range of clients, including national and local governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, private corporations, and philanthropies.
About WFS Project:
The USAID Feed the Future Uganda Water and Food Systems (WFS) Activity is a five-year activity (202302028) implemented by Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI Global LLC) as a lead partner with funding from USAID Feed the Future in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Stantec, Market Share Associates, and the International Water Management Institute. The Activity aims to inclusively and equitably improve food and water security in the Kyoga Basin in northeastern Uganda, specifically three watersheds — Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere, by empowering individuals and communities to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors in order to improve livelihoods, maintain nutrition and health wellbeing, address drivers of conflict, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Operations Officer will provide a direct support to the Operations Manager in ensuring day-to-day office management and administration with high level of efficiency.
S/he will collaborate and seek technical guidance from the Operations Manager and the Programs team to ensure the project needs are taken into account throughout the execution of the daily operational roles in the Catchment area/office.
S/he will directly support in office procurement, office management, administration, logistics and fleet management for the Catchment office/region.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelors degree in business administration, management, logistics and procurement, or any related field.
Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in general office operations management with a good blend of procurement, logistics, administration or related area.
Prior experience in USAID project operations management is desired.
Professional proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in local languages preferred.
