Job Description
The Secretary Education Service Commission would like to inform the general public that the Commission has advertised various posts that exist in the Training Institutions of Vocational, Technical Colleges and UPIK under TVET, University Education and Training Departments and Ministry of Education and Sports Headquarters under Guidance and Counselling. Instructional Materials Unit and Special Needs Education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all instructional materials meet the required educational standards and are of high quality.
Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials through feedback from educators, students, and other stakeholders.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on the performance and impact of instructional materials.
Training and Professional Development
Training Programs: Develop and implement training programs for educators on the effective use of instructional materials.
Workshops and Seminars: Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance teachers' skills in using instructional materials.
Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to educators on best practices in instructional material usage.
Instructional Material Development
Development Oversight: Oversee the development and revision of instructional materials to ensure they align with the curriculum and educational goals.
Collaboration: Work with content developers, subject matter experts, and educators to create and improve instructional materials.
Innovation: Promote the integration of new technologies and innovative methods in the creation of instructional materials.
Distribution and Accessibility
Distribution Planning: Develop and manage the distribution plan to ensure that instructional materials reach all schools and educational institutions in a timely manner.
Accessibility: Ensure that instructional materials are accessible to all students, including those with special needs.
Policy Implementation and Compliance
Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with educational policies and regulations regarding instructional materials.
Standards Implementation: Implement national and institutional standards for instructional materials.
Data Management and Analysis
Data Collection: Collect data on the usage and effectiveness of instructional materials.
Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement in the instructional materials.
Budget Management
Budget Planning: Assist in the planning and management of the budget allocated for instructional materials.
Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of resources for the development, procurement, and distribution of instructional materials.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Educational Qualifications
Advanced Degree: A minimum of a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Management, or a related field.
Professional Certification: Additional certifications in educational leadership, instructional design, or a related area can be advantageous.
Experience
Teaching Experience: Significant experience in teaching or educational administration, preferably with a focus on instructional materials or curriculum development.
Management Experience: Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within an educational setting.
Training Experience: Experience in designing and conducting professional development and training programs for educators.
Skills and Competencies
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills to oversee the monitoring and training functions effectively.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and make data-driven decisions.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
Project Management: Proficiency in project management to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technologies and digital tools used in instructional material development and training.
