Job Description
The Program Officer Education, Access, Skilling & Training will be based at the RUFORUM Secretariat. He/she will support the SPO System Strengthening in delivery of transformative education for the training of leaders and entrepreneurial graduates. The office bearer will lead the recruitment of program beneficiaries, provide support in implementation of the training programs, skills and talent development initiatives with especial focus on diversity and inclusion of under-represented demographies especially Refugees and Displaced Persons, and Persons with Disabilities/Differently Abled Persons (DAPs). Further, the Office holder will facilitate the enabling of career guidance solutions-online and offline as well as facilitate access to 21st century skills (i.e. personal skills and professional skills such as critical thinking, leadership, financial, digital skills etc.) to bring greater focus on skills for transformative and entrepreneurial graduates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that universities and TVET institutions recruit, train and skill Africa’s new age of development practitioners and cadres under the different RUFORUM Programs
Support development and delivery of innovative skilling, education and learning solutions including the delivery of personal skills, technical skills, and workforce skills among program participants and implement skills enhancement trainings across programs.
Develop computational analysis of education performance including higher education institutions in teaching, learning, research, innovation and industry attainment including for those students supported by the program.
Support universities in the delivery of statistical analysis services to students as well collaboratively engage with the MEL Officer to produce analytical reports.
Participate in university Education/TVET, technology-based teaching and learning (amongst other education-based sectors) partner coordination working groups, task forces and other meetings where relevant.
Activities
Facilitate the recruitment, placement and training processes in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop an effective and efficient student support system that will foster dynamic alumni communities
Equip young women and men with 21st century skills including creativity, critical thinking, technology literacy, personal mastery and soft skills for teams’ development.

Publications including: peer reviewed articles, recruitment guidelines
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Master’s in education, computational sciences; mathematics, statistics, and biometry and related disciplines and PhD in similar disciplines will be an added advantage
At least 5 years working experience in teaching and training, and statistical analysis
Peer reviewed publications and evidence of capacity to write for diverse audiences.
Flexibility in working schedules and willingness to travel at short notice
