Job Description

Uganda has experienced significant development strides over the past decades, yet it continues to face substantial challenges that impede sustainable growth and equitable prosperity. The country grabbles with recurrent humanitarian crises, including refugee influxes, climate-indused shocks and stressors, and persistent food insecurity.
The World Food Programme (WFP) has been at the forefront of providing humanitarian assistance in Uganda, particularly in supporting vulnerable populations including refugees, the communities that host them, and food insecure people in Karamoja.
In line with its global strategy, WFP Uganda is increasingly focusing on strengthening resilience and fostering self-reliance amongst these communities to ensure sustainable food security and improved livelihoods.
The shift aligns with the Government of Uganda's National Development Plan and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
