The Korea International Cooperation Agency was established in 1991 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea as a governmental organization for Official Development Assistance.
Job Description
The Project Management Officer will assist in the implementation of programs of KOICA. The officer shall plan and coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities. Under the overall guidance and supervision of the program manager, the project management officer will be responsible for preparing relevant presentations and materials, organizing and delivering, and /or facilitating workshops and other training services in collaboration with the program manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate all KOICA Official Development Projects by undertaking negotiations for and preparing Project documents with Government ministries and other Partner agencies.
Formulate technical notes to the government of Uganda ministries and KOICA Headquarter.
Maintain records on program activities, from formulation stage through completion, by extracting relevant information from MOUs, Project proposals, reports, Project committees, budget records, and other documentation.
Undertake negotiations for and prepare MOUs as well as other project documents, with government ministries and other participating agencies.
Financial Management through budget drafting, preparation, and implementation.
Verification of accountability submitted by partners and carrying out quality assurance visits and assessments where the programs were implemented.
Identify, review, and evaluate project proposals from Government of Uganda MDAs, acquire supplementary information/research as needed.
Serve as secretary to partnership meetings; follow up on communication with all partners.
Provide administrative support whenever required and perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in international development studies, social sciences, Statistics, Economics, political sciences, program management, or related fields.
Prior Work Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant working experience in supporting the implementation of development projects, analysis and production of reports, or any related field gained from a reputable organization.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both oral and written.

Good computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, access & other widely used applications
The Applicant should have the ability to interpret and analyze a wide variety of Program issues, maintain accurate and precise records, and work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
