Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Control Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement quality control policies and procedures.

  • Establish quality objectives and benchmarks.

  • Plan and oversee the execution of quality control activities.


Process Management and Improvement:

  • Design and optimize quality control processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback.

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate quality control processes with overall production plans.


Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of QC inspectors, technicians, and analysts.

  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to team members.

  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.


Quality Inspection and Testing:

  • Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.

  • Ensure that products meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze test results and take corrective actions if products fail to meet standards.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, test results, and inspections.

  • Prepare regular reports on quality metrics, trends, and performance.

  • Document and investigate non-conformities and implement corrective actions.


Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  • Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to quality control processes.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.


Supplier Quality Management:

  • Evaluate and monitor the quality of materials and components supplied by vendors.

  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve supply chain quality.

  • Develop and maintain a supplier quality rating system.


Customer Focus and Complaint Resolution:

  • Address customer complaints and quality-related issues.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Communicate with customers regarding quality concerns and resolutions.


Training and Development:

  • Develop and implement training programs for QC staff on quality control methods and procedures.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and new quality control techniques.

  • Promote professional development and continuous learning within the QC team.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

  • Advanced certifications such as Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) are preferred.


Experience:

  • Relevant work experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a related field, typically 5-7 years.

  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience is highly desirable.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques.

  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).

  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).


Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret quality data and identify trends.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Ability to use quality management software and data analysis tools.


Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documentation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.


Attention to Detail:

  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inspections and documentation.

  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and maintaining thorough records.


Knowledge of Standards and Regulations

  • Thorough understanding of industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations.


Leadership and Teamwork:

  • Strong leadership skills to manage and develop the QC team.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve quality objectives.

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
