MOGAS has strongly positioned itself as the leading brand name for fuels, oil and lubricants in East & Central Africa with operations in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the UAE.

The company’s core operating assets include state of the art marine terminals at the port of Dar es Salaam with a capacity of 40,000m3 and Port of Tanga with a of capacity 6,500m3 ; a modern inland fuel depots with a capacity of 5,000 m3 in Kampala; and in Lubumbashi, DRC with a capacity of 5,000m3 capacity.

Job Description

Founded in 1987, Maestro Oil and Gas Solutions (MOGAS) is an integrated regional downstream oil marketing company with business operations ranging from international oil trading to marine and inland terminal operations, retail service stations selling fuel and offering other services wide, range of automotive and industrial lubricants, sale and distribution of LPG through different channels.
We are looking for competent staff to work within various operations in the following capacities;

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Opening and Closing: Ensure the retail station opens and closes on schedule, adhering to operational hours.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering stock and maintaining adequate supplies.

  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the retail station premises and equipment.

  • Security and Safety: Implement security protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations to protect customers, employees, and assets.


Customer Service

  • Customer Relations: Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

  • Service Standards: Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained by training and supervising staff.

  • Promotions and Sales: Implement sales strategies and promotional activities to drive revenue and enhance customer satisfaction.


Staff Supervision and Training

  • Staff Scheduling: Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operational hours.

  • Training and Development: Train new employees on job responsibilities, company policies, and customer service protocols.

  • Performance Management: Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve employee performance and productivity.


Financial Management

  • Sales Reporting: Monitor daily sales transactions and prepare sales reports for management review.

  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage operational expenses within budgetary constraints and optimize cost efficiency.

  • Cash Handling: Oversee cash management procedures, including deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliation.


Compliance and Regulations

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards, labor laws, and licensing requirements.

  • Environmental Compliance: Adhere to environmental regulations and practices related to fuel storage and dispensing.


Marketing and Merchandising

  • Product Display: Coordinate product displays and merchandising strategies to maximize sales and promote new products.

  • Marketing Initiatives: Implement marketing campaigns and initiatives to attract customers and increase foot traffic.


Community Relations

  • Local Engagement: Build positive relationships with the local community and neighboring businesses.

  • Community Events: Participate in community events and sponsorships to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • At least a bachelor's degree in the profession applied for.

  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience in the field applied for.

  • Experience in the downstream/petroleum industry is an added advantage.
