For 25 years, Medical Access has transformed healthcare supply chains in 35+ low-and middle-income countries. Our journey started in 1998 during the peak of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa.
The UNAIDS Drug Access Initiative (DAI), the world’s first antiretroviral (ARV) access program in low- and middle-income countries, gave rise to Medical Access and enabled us to initiate the introduction of ARVs in Uganda at a critical time.
Since those early days, Medical Access has evolved to provide comprehensive supply chain solutions to leading local and international agencies for a wide range of medical products. Job Description
Medical Access Uganda Limited (MAUL) is a not-for-profit organization based in Kampala, Uganda specialized in the provision of health, supply chain management and technical assistance services for management of health commodities in Africa for the last 26 years. MAUL is seeking a dynamic, credible and qualified individual that can think outside the box with a combination of Private Sector and donor funding experience to fill the following positions:
Duties and Responsibilities
Developing and implementing professional and ethical sales and marketing strategies to increase customer engagement and sales revenue.
Identifying new business opportunities and developing relationships with potential customers, partners, and suppliers.
Conducting market research to identify industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive advantages to inform business development and expansion into other health related areas including medical utilities, laboratory, veterinary medicine and other services.
Supporting the development of pricing strategies for products and services that take into account customer value, competition, and profitability.
Managing and coordinating marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, including digital and traditional ones for all principals
Supporting the development of sales forecasts and budgets and managing sales performance and sales teams to meet revenue targets.
Leading and managing sales and marketing teams, training and coaching team members to optimize their performance.
Collaborating with internal departments, including business development and customer service, to identify new products and services to meet current client needs.
Developing and managing relationships with the industry Key Opinion Leaders, and stakeholders in the Uganda (especially in Oncology, HIV, Hepatitis, Non-communicable diseases etc.) including stakeholders at major ART Treatment centers, Donors, National Drug Authority and Ministry of Health
Support the coordination of Training for product quality and PV.
Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
10-12 years of experience in business development or Sales and Marketing in a reputable organization.
Bachelor’s degree in any biological sciences including Biochemistry, Health Sciences, Biomedical Laboratory Technology Nursing, Marketing, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy or other Health related field.
A master’s degree or post graduated qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
