Job Description
Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is a public Limited Company, wholly owned by the Government of Uganda, and holds the following operational licenses: System Operator, Operation of the High Voltage Transmission Grid, Bulk Power Supply, Import and Export of Power and Public Infrastructure Provider (for ownership and operation of the Optic Fibre).

Duties and Responsibilities
Business Analysis and Requirement Gathering
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and objectives.
Conduct thorough requirement gathering sessions through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
Document business requirements, functional specifications, and use cases.
Process Improvement
Analyze current business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Develop process maps and flowcharts to visualize current and future state processes.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Solution Design and Implementation
Work with technical teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
Ensure that solutions are aligned with business goals and objectives.
Conduct feasibility studies and impact analysis for proposed solutions.
Project Management
Lead and manage business analysis activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with project managers.
Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of business analysis deliverables.
Stakeholder Communication and Management
Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.
Present findings, recommendations, and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns or issues promptly.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Perform data analysis to support business decision-making and strategy development.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights.
Ensure data quality and integrity in all analysis and reporting activities.
Testing and Quality Assurance
Develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for business solutions.
Coordinate and participate in testing activities to ensure solutions meet requirements.
Identify and document defects, and work with technical teams to resolve them.
Training and Support
Provide training and support to end-users on new processes and systems.
Develop training materials and user documentation.
Ensure a smooth transition and adoption of new solutions by the business.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) are often preferred.
Certifications
Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) are advantageous.
Experience
Several years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a related field.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects and business solutions.
Experience in various industries is beneficial, with domain-specific knowledge preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SWOT analysis, PEST analysis, BPMN).
Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau) and project management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Excellent analytical skills to identify business problems and develop effective solutions.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex business challenges.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and analysis.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings.
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives.
Project Management Skills
Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple initiatives.
Ability to develop and execute project plans, monitor progress, and meet deadlines.
Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
Leadership and Teamwork
Proven leadership abilities to guide and mentor junior analysts and team members.
Experience in fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Career Path and Progression
Entry-Level Roles: Starting positions might include Business Analyst, Junior Business Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst.
Mid-Level Roles: Progress to roles such as Business Analysis Lead, Project Manager, or IT Business Analyst.
Senior Roles: Advance to positions such as Senior Business Analyst, Lead Business Analyst, or Senior Project Manager.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND REMUNERATION
The holder of this position will be offered a contract subject to the Ministry of Public Service Guidelines on the rationalization Exercise of Government Institutions
