Job Description

Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI) (Pride) is the leading Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution in Uganda with 46 locations countrywide, an equal opportunity employer and is regulated by Bank of Uganda under the MDI Act, 2003.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for providing centralized and seamless management information and business intelligence services through the development and deployment of efficient data interrogation tools; continuous performance improvement and user training. He/ she will assist the Department Head with robust business insights covering both internal customer analytics and external market reviews for business planning. He / she will directly report to the Head Strategy and will be based at Head Office

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal colleagues in other areas of the Pride to build scalable solutions for data analysis and business process improvement.

  • Develop, test and deploy value-adding, tailor-made management information and business intelligence solutions and create information and data architectures designed to solve key business problems.

  • Follow Pride’s approved scope-design-test-deploy methodology and work closely with user departments to implement the most effective and efficient solution that meet the needs of the client.

  • Eliminate duplication of effort through centralized source of management information on market performance.

  • Design efficient predictive / forecasting models which enable scenario planning.

  • Understand customer behaviour through exploration of big data and develop frameworks for information collection and analysis;

  • Identify business opportunities and develop segmentation strategy to enhance customer stickiness and profitability.

  • Develop quality training documentation and run regular courses (in collaboration with HR) on effective use of the reporting and query tools for respective user department.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Statistics, Economics, ICT humanities or relevant field.

  • A Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Statistics, Microfinance, Banking and Finance, Business Computing, Economics and any other related field is added advantage.

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a related role in a supervised financial institution at a supervisory level.

  • Statistical background is an advantage.

  • Knowledge and clear understanding of industry and business awareness, project management, quality control and proven ability to train and develop others.

  • He/she should not be more than 40 years of age
