Role Overview Summary
The person in the role will devise the teaching methodologies in literacy and numeracy, and to improve and strengthen the capacity of school governance structures, thereby facilitating the improvement of learning achievements among students. This role is a part of the project implemented by VSO Uganda, targeting the improvement of education governance and teacher effectiveness in the Karamoja region.

You must the citizen of Uganda or right to work in the country with Bachelor’s degree in education, learning through play competence and expertise in teacher education system and teacher policies in the Ugandan context.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teacher Training and Development:
Design and deliver professional development programs for primary school teachers.
Conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions on effective teaching methods, classroom management, and curriculum implementation.
Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to teachers to support their professional growth.
Curriculum Development:
Assist in developing and reviewing primary school curricula to ensure they meet educational standards and are relevant to students' needs.
Support teachers in implementing the curriculum effectively in their classrooms.
Classroom Support:
Observe classroom teaching and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
Demonstrate model lessons and best teaching practices.
Help teachers develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices and training programs.
Collect and analyze data on teacher performance and student learning outcomes.
Use evaluation results to improve training programs and teaching practices.
Resource Development and Management:
Create and distribute teaching aids, learning materials, and resources to support teachers.
Ensure that teachers have access to adequate resources to facilitate effective teaching.
Community Engagement:
Collaborate with parents, community members, and other stakeholders to support the educational needs of students.
Organize community events and activities to promote education and engage families in the learning process.
Advocate for policies and practices that support quality primary education.
Work with education authorities to implement policies that improve teacher training and educational outcomes.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of training activities, teacher progress, and program outcomes.
Prepare reports for stakeholders, including funding organizations and government agencies.
