Job Description

The key purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate production plan from Central Planning in the Brewing Department as well as leading brewing People, Plant, Process and Systems in order to achieve the required standard of product quality and output in the most efficient and effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate team problem solving

  • Utilise short interval control [SIC] to identify and manage opportunities

  • Communicate effectively in the workplace

  • Conduct regular GEM assessments. Support the pillar owners in the self-assessment process and evidence

  • Ensure effective application of the VPO standards

  • Ensure teams competence and understanding of the VPO standards for all pillars through pillar owners

  • Lead the Change process to implement the VPO standards

  • Support all 7 pillars in the workplace

  • Manage occupational health, safety and risk for the production teams

  • Apply performance management principles for employees (production teams)

  • Apply self-performance management principles

  • Develop employees for current role and future roles to ensure proper pipeline

  • Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate

  • Manage and apply personnel practices

  • Provide effective leadership

  • Ensure employees are trained on technical and VPO standards

  • Control fixed and variable costs

  • Minimise waste

  • Ensure conformance to brewing production plans

  • Ensure conformance to brewing specifications and standards

  • Ensure maintenance integrity

  • Ensure effective cost management on fixed and variable costs including byproduct

  • Optimise process availability to achieve delivery and reliability targets

  • Support engineering integrity

  • Support production and process optimisation including trials, VA and CAP in projects

  • Ensure adherence to environmental standards by teams

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry or related

  • Diploma or Certificate in brewing is an added advantage

  • 5 Year experience in FMCG environment is recommended

  • FMCG experience as a Team Leader, Unit Manager or related

  • Brewing Qualifications, Certificate or Diploma

  • A good Knowledge of manufacturing system and Operational excellence
