Job Description

Centenary Bank is a leading Commercial Microfinance Bank serving over a third of the banking population with services that can be accessed across 80 branches, 191 ATMs and over 5,200 CenteAgents and other digital platforms.
Job Summary: Oversees cybersecurity operations, including team leadership, incident response, policy development, risk management and security operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Strategy Development:

Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and regulatory requirements.
Establish cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.

Risk Management:

Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity risks.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect against potential threats.
Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability assessments.

Incident Response and Management:

Develop and maintain an incident response plan.
Lead the response to cybersecurity incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
Conduct post-incident analysis and implement lessons learned to prevent future incidents.

Security Operations:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cybersecurity team, including monitoring security systems, analyzing threats, and responding to alerts.
Ensure the security operations center (SOC) is functioning effectively.
Monitor and analyze security logs, reports, and other data for signs of potential breaches.

Team Management and Leadership:

Manage, mentor, and develop the cybersecurity team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools.
Foster a culture of security awareness within the team and across the organization.
Ensure continuous training and development for the cybersecurity team.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Proficiency in security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, and endpoint security.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS) and standards.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure during security incidents.
Attention to detail and the ability to think critically

Leadership and Management Skills:

Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
