Job Description
The Mobile Money Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for mobile money systems and applications. They work to ensure the smooth operation of these systems, resolve user issues, and maintain the overall reliability and performance of the mobile money platform.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support:
Provide timely and effective technical support to users experiencing issues with mobile money services.
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to mobile money transactions, account access, and other functionalities.
Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or relevant teams for resolution.
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
Monitor the performance and health of mobile money systems and applications.
Identify and address potential issues proactively to prevent service disruptions.
Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates and patches.
Incident Management:
Respond to and manage incidents related to mobile money services, following established procedures.
Collaborate with other teams to investigate and resolve incidents efficiently.
Document incident details and resolutions for future reference.
User Communication:
Communicate clearly and effectively with users, providing updates on issue status and resolution progress.
Educate users on mobile money functionalities and best practices.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with users.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of technical processes, troubleshooting guides, and known issues.
Share knowledge and expertise with other team members to improve overall support capabilities.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in a technical support or engineering role, preferably in the mobile money or financial services industry.
Strong understanding of mobile money technologies, platforms, and protocols.
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in relevant programming languages and scripting.
