Job Description

Our client is the world’s largest international mobile virtual network operator and is the market leader in the international prepaid mobile calls market, with over 15 million customers across 23 countries and a new one joining every two seconds. Founded in 2006 for expatriate communities in Europe, it has fast become a global brand synonymous with connecting customers with their loved ones across oceans, borders and networks at the lowest possible price. The business continues to make inroads to new markets regularly, most recently adding Uganda, with plans for additional launches this year.
Position Summary:
Our client is seeking to employ an experienced and dynamic Product Manager to join the team in Uganda. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the company's product portfolio, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and market demands. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute product strategies that align with company goals and market opportunities.

  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.

  • product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle, ensuring products meet customer and business requirements.


Product Development and Management:

  • Lead the development and launch of new products and services.

  • engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product development and launch.

  • Manage product performance, gather customer feedback, and implement continuous improvements.


Market Analysis and Positioning:

  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Develop pricing strategies, positioning, and messaging to differentiate products in the market.

  • Create and maintain product documentation, including specifications, user guides, and training materials.

Stakeholder Management:




  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and senior management, to gather requirements and communicate product updates.

  • Act as the product ambassador, promoting products internally and externally.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics to assess success and identify areas for improvement.

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on product performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • MBA (Master of Business Administration) or a related advanced degree.

  • Significant experience in product management, preferably in a similar industry.

  • Proven track record of successful product development and launch.

  • Experience working in diverse market environments, preferably including emerging markets like Uganda.

  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive product strategies.

  • Skills in conducting market research to understand customer needs and market trends.

  • Experience leading product development and launch processes.

  • Collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales.

  • Analytical skills to evaluate market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to act as a product ambassador and promote products to diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency in monitoring and analyzing product performance metrics.

  • Skills in preparing detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
