Zembo is leading the African transition to electric mobility. Based in Kampala, Uganda, we provide affordable (PayGo) electric two-wheelers to low-income motorcycle-taxi drivers, most known locally as “boda-boda ”drivers. We offer a battery swapping service to our clients, enabling to swap within minutes at any of our stations.
Job Description
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop installation plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
Installation Planning: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop installation plans, including site assessments, electrical design, equipment procurement, and budgeting.
Battery Swap Cabinet Installation: Lead the installation and commissioning of high-voltage 3-phase battery swap cabinets at designated locations, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
Solar Integration: Design and implement solar power systems to support the operation of battery swap cabinets, maximizing energy efficiency and reducing reliance on the grid.
Health and Safety: Implement robust health and safety protocols to protect workers, contractors, and the public during installation and maintenance activities, including risk assessments and safety training.
Quality Assurance: Conduct quality inspections and testing to ensure the reliability and performance of installed equipment, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for battery swap cabinets, and provide troubleshooting support to resolve electrical faults and issues.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on high-voltage/power systems.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in the context of electrical installations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
