About the Organization:
Cashiers are responsible for handling financial transactions in various retail and service environments, such as grocery stores, restaurants, and retail shops. They ensure that customers have a smooth checkout experience while maintaining accuracy in transactions and handling money.
Café Sofrito is a small, vibrant café that celebrates Latin American and Caribbean culinary traditions, particularly through its use of sofrito, a flavorful base made from ingredients like garlic, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. The café is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and serves a variety of traditional dishes and beverages that are infused with the rich, savory flavors of sofrito.
Organization:
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining Cleanliness and Order:
Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and free of clutter, ensuring a pleasant environment for customers.
Dispose of trash, remove any packaging materials, and wipe down surfaces regularly.
Ensure that any promotional materials or advertisements at the checkout area are current and displayed properly.
Assisting with Promotions and Loyalty Programs:
Inform customers about ongoing promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs, and apply discounts to eligible purchases.
Enroll customers in loyalty programs and explain the benefits or terms associated with the program.
Upsell or suggest additional products to customers based on their purchases or inquiries.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other staff members, such as floor associates, managers, and stockers, to ensure smooth store operations.
Assist in training new cashiers or helping teammates during peak hours or busy periods.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding any issues or updates
