Job Description
Rushere Cooperative Savings and Credit Society Limited, a registered SACCO in Rushere Town Council, operates in the districts of Kiruhura, Kazo, Kamwenge, Ibanda, Mbarara, Sembabule, Kyegegwa, and Lyantonde. We are expanding and looking to hire qualified personnel for the following positions:
Duties and Responsibilities
Credit Assessment and Analysis:
Evaluating Applications: Reviewing loan applications and assessing the financial history and creditworthiness of applicants.
Analyzing Financial Statements: Analyzing balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial documents.
Credit Scoring: Using credit scoring systems and models to evaluate the risk associated with lending to a particular applicant.
Loan Approval Process:
Decision Making: Making informed decisions on whether to approve or reject loan applications based on analysis.
Approval Authority: Depending on their seniority, some credit officers may have the authority to approve loans, while others may need to escalate to higher management.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and ensuring they are mitigated before approving loans.
Customer Interaction:
Client Meetings: Conducting interviews and meetings with clients to gather information and discuss their financial needs.
Advising Clients: Advising clients on the best financial products and credit options available to them.
Communication: Clearly communicating terms and conditions of credit agreements to clients.
Compliance and Documentation:
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all credit activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all credit transactions, applications, and communications.
Internal Policies: Adhering to the internal policies and procedures of the financial institution.
Portfolio Management:
Monitoring Loans: Regularly monitoring outstanding loans to ensure timely repayments.
Portfolio Review: Reviewing the overall credit portfolio to assess its performance and identify any potential issues.
Risk Assessment: Continuously assessing the risk profile of the credit portfolio and making adjustments as necessary.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Diploma/Bachelor's degree in a business-related course
One year of experience working in a financial institution
Minimum age of 21 years
