Job Description
LifeLink Medical Group is a private medical establishment, initially founded as Lifelink Medical Centre in 2008 with a goal of bringing superior but affordable medical services, closer to the people. Currently running a hospital in Namugongo, and an urban clinic in Ntinda. LifeLink offers both general and specialist health services in a sparkly, friendly and well-supervised environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Claims Processing
Preparation of Claims: Collect and compile patient information and medical records to prepare insurance claims.
Submission of Claims: Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or via paper forms.
Verification and Authorization
Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before services are provided.
Pre-Authorization: Obtain necessary pre-authorizations for certain medical procedures and services.
Billing and Coding
Medical Coding: Apply appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient diagnoses and procedures.
Charge Entry: Enter charges for services rendered into the billing system.
Payment Posting
Payments and Adjustments: Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts.
Reconciliation: Reconcile payments with claims submitted to ensure accuracy.
Claims Follow-Up
Denial Management: Identify and correct errors on denied claims and resubmit for payment.
Follow-Up: Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or delayed claims.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, medical billing, or a related field.
Certifications
CPC: Certified Professional Coder (offered by AAPC).
CBCS: Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (offered by NHA).
CPB: Certified Professional Biller (offered by AAPC).
CMRS: Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (offered by AMBA).
Skills and Competencies
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies and denials.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience
Work Experience: Previous experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or a related field.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of various insurance plans, payer policies, and reimbursement procedures.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle complex billing issues and find solutions.
