Job Description
The role requires a combination of operational expertise, customer service skills, and business acumen to successfully manage the complexities of the gas station's operations and sales.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing daily operations: Ensuring the smooth running of the gas station, including managing staff, compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and maintaining customer satisfaction
Inventory management: Monitoring inventory levels, ordering fuel and merchandise, and managing budgets
Sales and profitability: Implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability, setting fuel prices according to market conditions, and possibly earning commissions based on sales
Customer service: Handling customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring positive customer experiences, and maintaining the station's cleanliness and appearance
Staff management: Supervising and training staff, setting employee schedules, and managing the hiring, training, and firing of employees.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide teams, with a focus on achieving sales targets and operational efficiency
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, staff, and suppliers
Customer Service: Providing excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
Inventory Management: Keeping track of stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing budgets
Financial Acumen: Handling cash, managing bank deposits, and preparing financial reports
Salesmanship: Understanding customer needs and driving merchandise sales through effective promotions and upselling
Problem-Solving: Addressing and resolving issues swiftly to maintain smooth operations
Flexibility: Adapting to changing circumstances, such as shift changes or unexpected events
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety, security, and environmental regulations
Technical Skills: Operating and troubleshooting equipment like fuel pumps and POS systems
Qualifications:
A strong background in operations management, preferably in the oil and gas industry (fuel station),
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Work Environment:
Fast-paced retail environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work in shifts
