Job Description
A Warehouse Specialist plays a critical role in the efficient operation of a warehouse, handling tasks related to inventory management, shipping, receiving, and maintaining the organization of the warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
Unload and check incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
Report any discrepancies or damaged items to the Warehouse Manager.
Inventory Management:
Organize and store items in designated locations.
Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
Update inventory management systems with current stock levels.
Order Fulfillment:
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements.
Ensure orders are accurate and properly labeled.
Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely dispatch.
Warehouse Maintenance:
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all warehouse activities.
Prepare reports on inventory levels, order status, and other relevant data.
Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Attention to Detail:
Accurate handling of inventory, including tracking, counting, and verifying stock.
Precise documentation of shipments, receipts, and inventory movements.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to maintain a well-organized warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
Prioritization of tasks to manage time and meet deadlines effectively.
Physical Stamina:
Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items.
Endurance to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software for tracking inventory.
Knowledge of operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
Safety Awareness:
Adherence to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Awareness of hazardous materials handling and proper storage techniques.
